Long Island Tutoring and Enrichment
The Program
- LITE offers one-on-one tutoring at our comfortable office in Melville.
- Each student begins the program with a diagnostic ACT exam, which the tutor uses to both assess the student's strengths and weaknesses and manage the curriculum accordingly.
- Statistically, rote test prep practices lead to both ineffective teaching and lower student performance. That is why LITE students follow a carefully crafted curriculum so that they learn the material, not just how to take the test.
- Student progress is monitored through weekly homework assignments and quizzes.
- Students are given the opportunity to take timed, proctored practice exams. More exposure to the official exam questions means less anxiety on test day, better time management, and proper testing endurance.
One-on-One Tutoring
Students meet with their tutors in our Melville center weekly for one-hour sessions throughout the year. The curriculum is customized to meet the individual learner's academic needs. Every student's start and end time is different. Sessions begin soon after a student registers in our program and takes his/her diagnostic exam.
Remote Tutoring
We offer one-on-one tutoring using both Zoom and an interactive whiteboard tool for effective remote learning. Distance learning is an excellent option for international students and home-schooled students.

- 5 LITE students in the past three years scored perfect scores of 36 on their ACT exams!
- A recent LITE student, who is currently attending Yale University, was named a National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist and received a perfect score of 36 on his ACT.

ACT & SAT Online Registration
To register your student in the program, please complete the registration form below. You can pay the one-on-one registration fee by clicking the link below, or you can mail a check made payable to Long Island Tutoring & Enrichment. Please note that tutoring time slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Your child is not guaranteed a spot in the program until your registration form and fee are received and processed.
